PRIMARY COORDINATOR

Dear Parents,

Time has flown by and there have been many different events that have taken place during this school term. Thank you for your support, for the various activities you might have been involved in with your children. It has been an incredibly busy term with teachers and students celebrating Literacy/Book week, Science week, Daffodil Day, Father’s day and the Eid Festival.

Parent –Teacher Interviews:

Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held from 16th-18th October. Please complete online booking for a time that best suits you. If you are unable to book for any reason, please contact the school and we will make the bookings for you. It is critical that teachers and parents develop effective relationships to bridge student learning between home and school. If due to unavoidable circumstances, you are unable to make it to the interview please organise another time with your child’s teacher during the term.

Reports

Interim reports will be mailed to you during the school holidays. I would like to encourage all students to use their time wisely during their holidays: enjoy, relax and keep reading.

All students in Year 3 and 5 sat the NAPLAN Tests in Literacy and Numeracy. Families have received their own personal report about their child’s achievement in Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation and Numeracy. At Sirius College, we make every effort to ensure that our programs and curriculum cover those elements of the tests that are assessed and reported on. No matter what level of achievement they are at we will continue to work with the students to improve their learning outcomes. Parents can rest assured that we will put the data we have, to good use by supporting our students to achieve their best.

Athletics Carnival

Less than 4 weeks until Sirius College’s Annual Athletics Carnival & Fun Run. The event will run on 19th October at the John Mc Ewen Reserve, 120 Numurkah Rd, Shepparton. The Fun Run this year will have a strong emphasis on having FUN and trying your best! All students will receive a Sponsorship Form to help collect sponsorship on behalf of the school. The funds raised will be used to buy more resources for lunch time activities. Please keep this day free to attend, as the presence of parents on these days boost the confidence of the students.

Enrolments for 2019

We are now taking enrolments for next year’s Foundation students. If you have, or know of a child that will start school next year please come and enrol them through the office as soon as you can. Please spread the word with your friends and family if they too have a school age child ready to commence in 2019. If you are in contact with families of prospective students from Year 1 to year 6 too, please ask them to contact the office and book in a school tour.

Please have a wonderful two weeks with your children. We look forward to seeing everyone next term.

Regards,
Mrs. Tarbinder Pandher
